The Grande vs. The Large: What’s Different
The Thunderhead Grande uses a true mechanical waterproof zipper on the main compartment — the most secure closure available, preferred by anglers heading to the most demanding environments. Unlike the ZipLock-style TRU Zip on the Thunderhead Large, the mechanical zipper requires no special technique to seal and delivers bombproof waterproofing even under sustained submersion. The front quick-access pocket uses a YKK AquaGuard® water-resistant zipper for fast access to items that don't need full submersion protection.
Two included Lariat gear straps position on both sides for lashing to raft frames or cargo racks, and the daisy chain webbing adds external rod tube attachment when you need the full 100L interior for gear. Stowable backpack straps convert it to a pack when the trail starts.
