If you are like most anglers, having access to your own private stretch of river isn't a luxury you can take advantage of. Most everyone relies on having access to public lands and public water to do their fishing on. Unfortunately, that public access isn't guaranteed, and that's why we need vocal organizations like Backcountry Hunters & Anglers to make sure we always have a place to wet a line. We need those folks on the front lines of policy making ensuring our public lands aren't threatened or even worse, sold off wholesale.
As a step to ensure we always have access to the lands, waters, and wildlife we love, Waterworks-Lamson has taken their wildly popular Litespeed G5 and collaborated with First Lite to produce a limited edition Fusion camo reel that sends a portion of the sales back to Backcountry Hunters & Anglers.
About the Lamson G5 Fusion Camo Limited Edition Reel
As the fifth generation of the LiteSpeed, Lamson has had plenty of time to tweak everything until the reel has been refined to perfection. The latest improvements include an integrated drag cassette, which results in a stiffer frame, even with all of the weight-reducing porting. The spool has also been narrowed a bit, which makes for a higher line retrieval rate (ideal for when that big Rainbow comes charging back at you) and helps keep line from stacking and provides better line handling.
The ergonomic drag knob has been enlarged to allow for micro-adjustments during the heat of battle.
The Type 2 First Lite Fusion Camo anodized finish will not only provide stealth, so you can drop that dry fly on that Brown's head from a mere rod length away, but it will also stand up to all kinds of abuse on rocks once you get the fish landed.
Like most Waterworks-Lamson reels, this First Lite Fusion Camo edition is CNC machined in the U.S. from 6061 barstock aluminum and assembled in Boise, Idaho.
