Learn about Colorado's best kept secret!

Known in some circles as Colorado's most underrated river, the Eagle river definitely ranks highly as one of Colorado's greatest freestone rivers. The Eagle is just far enough from the Front Range that it sees far less traffic than other destinations such as the South Platte. A tributary of the Colorado River, the Eagle is over 60 miles long, and has plenty of public access, which provides anglers great year-round angling opportunities.

basin + bend is excited to be hosting Bob Streb, or "Bobber" as he is known on the water. A guide for Colorado Angling Company, Bob's notoriety as an Eagle river guide is as prolific as the mid-Summer Caddis hatches that his home river sees.

Bob will be sharing his wealth of information about the Eagle with us, which he has gathered from literally thousands of days with his feet in her water, or gliding by boat into her back-eddies. By the end, you will see why the Eagle should definitely be added to your destination list this season. If we're lucky, he'll even whip up a couple of his guide flies!

The waters of the Adirondacks, Catskills, Central Pennsylvania, the Tribs of Lake Ontario and Erie; and his forever home water Oatka creek served as the greatest undergrad program on the planet for his fly fishing and tying. After 30+ years of fly fishing, almost two decades of guiding and over 10,000 commercial rowing miles on The Roaring Fork, The Colorado and his new home river THE Eagle River, he almost has his PHD.

Bobber is into cotton hoodies, frozen double stuff Oreo’s, ripping streamers, cheeseburgers, The Buffalo Bills, Syracuse basketball, fishing salt water, his Harley, and taking awesome photos of special times outdoors. Expect a heavy dose of North Eastern sarcasm, 90’s Alternative, Rap or Hip Hop, no Classic Rock or country for this kid. The only thing more important than his vice, rowing boats like a monster or playing with fly rods are his true loves, his boy Sam and his best friend Kitty.
