For the team here at basin + bend, the last year has been a whirlwind, but as a result, our tribe of conservationists has grown significantly.
Our conservation footprint has also grown, donating thousands of YOUR dollars into on-the-ground conservation projects. Projects that truly make a difference, and for that, we want to say thank you.
So in true b+b fashion, we're once again rolling the weather dice and throwing a party for our tribe in February. It's a great way to get out of the house, talk some hunting and fishing with your fellow conservationists, enjoy a brew or two, and cure that cabin fever!
It's our way of showing our appreciation of your support not only for our business, but also for its conservation mission, and the organizations we support through you.
Once again our brand partners have provided a pile of gear to be given away to our valued customers!
11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. - Caleb VanWagner - How to add distance to your cast
Distance casting is intriguing on many levels. When we fine-tune our equipment it is amazing to see how far fly line can travel. There are a few things that you can focus on within your cast to help add distance. Body mechanics are fundamental in any good distance cast. Just as in any sport, good habits must be formed and duplicated until they become second nature. Caleb will show you what easy tweaks you can make to add distance to your cast.
Caleb is a GoPro Mountain Games and Golden Games medalist and a Fly Fishing Team USA youth coach. He has a great understanding of distance casting and is always willing to share his knowledge.
11:30 a.m. - Good Bull Outdoors - The Evolution of Capturing Elk
We're excited to welcome our good friends Alli and Loren from Good Bull Outdoors, a media company that focuses on sharing their love of elk, elk hunting, elk calling and other outdoor adventures.

12:30 p.m. - Colorado Trout Unlimited - Focus on Native Species
David Nickum, Executive Director for Colorado Trout Unlimited will be giving an overview of the various native trout species projects that Colorado TU is spearheading, including the Rock Creek project that your purchases supported during Q3 of 2018.
1:30 p.m. - Timber to Table - Introducing Wild Game Into Your Life
We are excited to host Adam and Ana Gall from Timber to Table Guide Service out of Hotchkiss, CO. Timber to Table isn't your typical hunting outfitter. As their name implies, they specialize in helping new hunters (especially women and youth) put wild, healthy and delicious meat on their table. They educate their clients on how to process their own animal so in the future they’ll have the skills to bring whatever game they’re pursuing from the timber to their own table.
Adam and Ana also hosted the Hunting for Sustainability event here in Colorado for Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, which was our project for Q2 in 2018.
2:00 p.m. - RepYourWater - Fly Fishing For Golden Dorado in Bolivia
Garrison and Corinne Doctor (the founders of RepYourWater) had the pleasure of fishing at Tsimane Lodge in Bolivia last year.
They'll be sharing some of their amazing photography from the trip and show you why Golden Dorado and other species of the greater Amazon basin are amazing!
