Did you receive a fly rod and reel as a gift and don't really know how to use it?
Maybe you went on a guided fishing trip and now you want a lesson to learn more, so you can go out on your own? This beginner fishing class is ideal for entry to intermediate level fly anglers.
After you complete one of our five hour Introduction to Fly Fishing classes, you will have learned the basic skills you need to confidently take to the water on your own and have fun!
The class is a one day, five hour+ class that begins with 2.5 hours of classroom instruction at the shop. We'll start by covering equipment basics, knots, basic rigging, the basics of dry fly fishing and nymphing, and the basics of entomology and how it applies to fly selection.
The second 2.5 hour part of the class is conducted outside on nearby private water in Evergreen (near Denver) where students are taught the fundamentals of casting, the basics of getting a good drift, how to read the water, fish handling and catch & release concepts, and river etiquette and stewardship.
All equipment is provided. Includes all in-class and field materials and supplies, 2.5 hours of classroom training/instruction, 2.5 hours of outdoors casting and stream side training/instruction. Lunch is not provided. Please feel free to bring snacks as needed.
